This year’s Safety Seminar held at SAA Flight Training focused on increasing awareness especially amongst student pilots. Tyrone Park, Principals Operations Inspector FAA, Joe Leone, Designated Pilot Examiner, and Frederick Christlieb, FAA’s Team Safety Manager, were amongst the speakers during the Safety Seminar. Great deal of time was spent on fundamental topics such as airspace, mid-air collision avoidance, and load management of pilots as well as spatial awareness and position reports. First hand knowledge was provided while examining the causes of real case accidents. Emphasis was given to the fact that with or without ATC help, avoidance is always a pilot’ responsibility, not just because so say the regulations, but also because at the end of the day, it’s the pilot’s own life and the life of the passengers that is at stake. The dedication and enthusiasm of the speakers was captivating, consequently they were able to send the message across and provide the audience with a valuable experience. SAA was pleased to be the host to this Safety Seminar for the benefit of pilots and student pilots alike. We want to thank everyone for being there.
