.JAA - ATPL Theory

 

Introduction

The Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) Theory Program provides you with the theoretical knowledge required to operate in the European air transportation.  Are you ready to take the next step in your aviation career? Scandinavian Aviation Academy Inc. offers a qualitative ATPL-Theory semi-distance course. The ATPL Theory is the highest level available in the aviation industry.  With 14 books of in-depth aviation information to be studied together with computer based training (CBT) the course often proves to be quite demanding.  Students must show dedication, discipline and motivation during the course to keep up to the set standards.

 

Overview

The ATPL - Theory program is a distance learning course along with classroom instruction at Scandinavian Aviation Academy Inc. consisting of approximately 40 hours of home studies per week with a completion time of 47 weeks.  The course is divided into three phases each comprising a third of the material to be studied.  Each phase consists of several intro and review classes and one progress test.  You will receive an introduction to the subjects and meet the various instructors that will guide you throughout the course.  This course provides you with the theoretical knowledge required to work as an airline pilot in Europe.

Application Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid ICAO PPL(A)
  • Valid JAA medical class 1
  • Math, Physics and English

During the first introduction week you will also be given an introduction to our Distance learning System (DLS).  DLS will be your tool of communication with your instructors and classmates, as well as the course organizer.  You will also take tests and perform various checks through the DLS.  At the end of each phase is a final school test on each subject.
